"Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass" (Psalms 37:5).
For over 30 years, the above verse from the Psalms has been my life verse. Each day in my prayers and in my thoughts, I claim this verse for that day unto the Lord God.
Dr. Adam Dooley wrote, "Rest in Him for the relief that anxiety steals. Wait on Him for the justice you long for. Only then will trust become more than a slogan."
Yes, trusting in the Lord must be more than a bumper sticker or a slogan. The Bible reveals, "Trust [take refuge] in the Lord [Jehovah] with all your heart [center of everything] and lean not [don't support yourself] on your own understanding. In all your ways [your whole life] submit [acknowledge] to Him and He will make your paths straight [right direction]" (Proverbs 3:5-6).
In other words, trust really means to get full of God and NOT OF OURSELVES.
I (we) need to :
* Trust God for affirmation
* Rely on Him for security
* Rest in Him for relief
* Wait on Him for justice
We need to apply trust in our WALK WITH GOD. We need to TRUST God totally. "When God has total control of our lives...we have total peace IN HIM."
