The Cure for Spiritual Cancer

"In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins" (Colossians 1:14).

If forgiveness is to let go of someone's misdeeds toward you, then unforgiveness is not letting them go. When you hold on to unforgiveness that act adds weight and burden to your emotional and spiritual life.

Have you ever had a stopped up drain in your kitchen? The sink just gets stopped up with garbage and the water will not flow. That's how unforgiveness is; our emotional and spiritual lives are hindered by the garbage of unforgiveness."

Many times, we have a defiant attitude, "I'll show them; I'll just harbor my justifiable hard feelings and I won't forgive them." You know, I've discovered that when you have a "pity party" no one attends but you. Many times people who have hurt you..DON'T CARE!

You can stay miserable and carry around the anvil of unforgiveness or you can LET IT GO! Forgiveness is the cure to our spiritual cancer of unforgiveness. Unforgiveness will eat you alive where you live in your emotional and spiritual life.

God knew that as human beings our imperfections would bleed over into the lives of others. Sometimes there is relational reconciliation, but many times there is not. If we don't let imperfections in others go, it will damage us.

So God gave us the forgive others as God forgave us. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us ours sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. You see, even if we are not the offending party; if we don't forgive them that unforgiveness becomes sin.

So, grab the plunger of forgiveness and keep your vessel free of the clogs of blessed. Let the Spirit of God flow through you into the lives of others through forgiveness.
