"Enoch was 65 years old when he fathered Methuselah. And after the birth of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and fathered other sons and daughters. So Enoch’s life lasted 365 years. Enoch walked with God; then he was not there because God took him" (Genesis 5:21-24).
Dr. Billy Graham said, "My home is heaven. I'm just passing through this world". On February 21, 2018 Billy Graham passed from this life into eternal life because of his personal faith in Jesus Christ. Why did his life make a difference?
Billy Graham's name is known around the world. He preached in person to more than 200 million people in over 185 countries, even to the people of North Korea. Millions of people came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and had their lives changed by personal salvation.
In the midst of the horror of national murder, world threats, and terroristic events there seemingly was a pause by the
announcement of Billy Graham's death. His message shown and heard on media was the message of love and the hope of the cross of Jesus. But what made Evangelist Billy Graham's life so impactful?
Only history will reveal the full impact of his ministry and life. My observations are as follows :
His life and message was simple, sincere, and immersed in the
Spirit of God.
His life was never about him, but the Lord and people.
His message was of the love of God.
His life was a mirror of righteousness and not immorality and
His success bore evidence of the power of God.
I can remember as a child, the Billy Graham crusades on television. As a pastor, I saw him in person at his Louisville crusade in the 1990's. I can remember his powerful message and then with the singing of "Just As I Am" people of all backgrounds coming forward and receiving Jesus Christ.
Like the Apostle Paul, Billy Graham said he was just a sinner saved by grace. He went on to say that he felt like he had fail in so many ways. If Billy Graham is a failure, where does that place each of us? Of course, I think his comments were indicative of his humility.
Enoch walk so closed to God..God went ahead and translated (by- passed physical death) and took him to heaven. "then he was not there because God took him." Billy Graham walked with God and on Wednesday God took him to heaven. "A man of God walked our way" and we are all blessed because of Evangelist Billy Graham's life.
